A hypothesis of cosmology that states that eventually, the universe will once again collapse as gravity overpowers dark energy, possibly resulting in a second big bang. Sometimes this is cyclical, with a series of universes in an eternal cycle. Big Crunch
At the end of the universe, most advanced races have retreated into self-sustaining pocket universes to survive the Big Crunch, to emerge after the universe has cooled again. So much energy and mass has been used to furnish these pocket universes that there is no longer enough mass to cause the Big Crunch, so a coalition decides to beseech the universes to return all their mass to the universe to allow the next universe to have a chance to form.
